How This Works
The COVID-19 Workforce Recovery: State & Local Disability-Inclusive Policies & Practices National Online Dialogue is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts about the different ways the pandemic has impacted the employment of people with disabilities and share your ideas on ways to ensure state and local policies responses to the pandemic are inclusive and aligned with disability and civil rights laws and regulations. This online dialogue focuses on three main topic areas: inclusive safety and health of all employees, including telework; inclusive mental health and vaccination efforts; and inclusive workforce readiness programs and initiatives.
The dialogue works by allowing you to respond to the different conversation topics by sharing an idea. You can join anytime, anywhere, from any device, at your convenience. Even if you don’t have an idea to share, you can add to the conversation by commenting and voting on ideas submitted by others. The steps for participating in the State and Local COVID-19 Policy Response for an Equitable Workforce National Online Dialogue are below.
To participate in the COVID-19 Workforce Recovery: State & Local Disability-Inclusive Policies & Practices National Online Dialogue, you must first Log In using your email and password from our past dialogues. If you are new to the dialogues and this is your first engagement, please Register. The Log In and Register links are located at the top right-hand corner of each dialogue page. Once you have logged in, you can access the online dialogue topics by clicking on one of the dialogue topic buttons highlighted in the middle of the page. An image of the dialogue topic buttons are shown below:
You can post your ideas to the dialogue by clicking the Submit an Idea button. An image of the Submit an Idea button is shown below:
If you would like to submit an idea, click on the Submit an Idea button and then fill out the form. An image of the form is shown below:
- In the pop up box that appears on your screen, type in a title that describes your question in the "Title" field.
- Type in the details you would like to include in the "Description" field.
- Choose a topic from the drop down list. You can only choose one of these topics, so please select the one that best fits your experience or idea.
- Click the "Submit" button to post your question to the dialogue. Please note that the "Title," "Description," and "Topic," fields are mandatory, so you must complete all three items in order for your question to successfully post.
To read ideas posted by others, simply click on the title. Each idea is individually listed in its own box under the "All" and "Popular Ideas" tabs.
If you would like to post a comment to an existing idea, open the idea by click on its title. From there you will be able to post your comment below the idea. Remember to click the submit button to successfully post your comment. An image of the comment section is shown below:
To vote on an idea, simply click the up arrow for "yes" or the down arrow for "no". The arrows are located to the right of each individual idea box as highlighted in the image below:
